What is DP and Flex mean.

They are specific terms used in softball. (if you are not in a softball league that uses DP/flex - you can ignore).

It is a much longer explanation, and impacts substitution rules.. But basically a DP bats and a Flex player fields. It is similar but not exactly the same as a DH/pitcher in MLB
