I am new to Iscore and have yet to use it. I coach 7 and 8 yr old machine pitch baseball. I am a stats lover and a firm believer in the use of spray charts for kids hitting off of a machine.
I coach third base and on defense I'm outside foul line making sure players are in correct positions.
Considering I am new to this am i gonna be able to score and do my job at the same time, or would you recommend me having another coach keep score? Keep in mind pitch by pitch is not really necessary.
Lets say i decide to let someone else score. How can I see the most recent spray chart and stats myself? will it update to my phone? (android)
I know these are probably newbie questions, but that's what I am at this point.
thanks for any pointers
Question about Iscore and use on the field
Re: Question about Iscore and use on the field
You can do it a few different ways, I have coached first base before at 9u and scored a game it is doable but as they get older it is harder and I think you will miss somethings. Probably easy at 7 and 8 years old. I would recommend finding someone to do it and then after the game you can sync the game to your phone. You will have all the same data including spray charts. Below is a link about data sharing. I use the data sharing feature to copy the game from my ipad to my iphone so I have the stats readily available when I need them.

Re: Question about Iscore and use on the field
Scoring the game while coaching on the field is fairly easy to do. I coach 3 teams from 6-16 (Softball) and I am able to score the game, monitor stats and keep track of the field too. While I prefer to have another coach do the scoring so that I don't get hit; it is possible. I have used Iscore for 2-1/2 years now so I am very familiar with the software. But it really all depends on what you need at your finger tips. If you need live data and info during the game then do it yourself. If you are just looking to record so that you can review and analyze later then have someone else do it for you.
Re: Question about Iscore and use on the field
Tell me if I am wrong about this scenario. If I had someone keeping score in stands or pressbox, and I had the "link to the game" would I not be able to see spray charts and stats on players as they came up to bat? Or is there a delay that would hinder me here.
Re: Question about Iscore and use on the field
No, spray charts are not visible on scorecast...plus delay would be an issue.

Re: Question about Iscore and use on the field
I assume that you are using the spray charts when the other team is hitting so you can adjust your defense, you could have someone score the game when your team is hitting and you are coaching third, then switch when your at bat is done and you could score the game while your team is on the field. So you would have direct access the the spray charts. we did that two years ago, just a thought.
