Complete Transfer of Data and app to a new user & device

Post by jeffrsunh » Mon Jun 02, 2014 7:36 pm

I need to move the last 2 years of data to a new device and the coach who will now be responsible for scoring the games. There is probably another step in doing this type transfer I would guess. Can someone point me in right direction please?

This link tells how to do a transfer of an entire database from one device to another:

Thanks but one slight difference. The new coach and new device are registered under his name and email. How do I get around that?

You'll have to register under one account. On the account tab, you will see this note:

NOTE: Register additional devices with same email to manage together. Click a device to unregister it or switch to that account

Click any of the devices to unregister from the existing account, then register under the other that you want it tied to.

The alternative would be using Data Sharing as it does not require registering the devices to an email address. With data sharing you have to transfer one game at a time. Here is a link describing how data sharing works:

Thanks. Effectively I am giving the account and data to another coach to Mage on their device. I get how to exchange the data but they have another account. It would registered in their email. Then I want to start over. It's not clear that these steps let me remove my registered email from this data and turnover to new coach with a different device.

Would this work?

Unregister your device on your account.
Register it to new coach on his account.
Do the data transfer.
Unregister your device from new coach account.
Register your device again on your account.

OK, i think i have figured this out there is one good twist to this. The new coach has not registered his email or device yet. So, can i not register all my leagues to his device get it synced up and then go into site Administraiton and change name and email of owner? I can't find where this is stated anywhere, it seems like it should work. Does anyone know for sure?

you seem to be making this more complicated than it needs to be..

If you have access to both devices this is a very straightforward process, even if you do not physically have access to both devices, I would assume if both parties want the data transferred a 5 minute phone call solves all.
