Correcting a mid game scoring error after the game is over.

Post by sanastas » Tue Apr 19, 2016 7:00 am

There are only a few small flaws with this app, and I seem to have run into one that created a rather large problem ... When a fielder's choice ends an inning, it asks what happened to the other runners on the base paths, as it should, but unless you claim that the runner from third "Held up" - even though he ran home - then it will score that runner!

In an effort to score all the details of what happened, I rushed through the sequence and didn't notice that I scored the runner from third by mistake. I realized the problem in the next inning, but there were already about 35 pitches by then, and there was NO WAY I was going to be able to "undo" all those pitches and action, and then re-enter it in order.

My ONLY recourse was to "correct" the score with the override feature, and so in the following inning, it shows a "-1" in the linescore. This is obviously not what went down, and now everyones stats are screwed up as a result. While I realize these stats are not the end of the world, I'm sure you can appreciate how parents want to see the correct stats for their kids, especially the pitchers ERA, etc.

The only thing that needs to be done is backing that runner to third and taking that run off the board, then - I suppose - also reconnecting the score that I manually overrode to get it all back to square.

Is this even possible?

With the runner on third, you can actually mark them as Safe, Home, Run Not Scored. You can do this after the fact as well. Go to Game Manager, select the game, select Pitch by Pitch, and scroll to the pitch where this happened. Tap the runner scoring from third, and select the "Run Not Scored" option.
