To change it would change the outcome of the game, with conventional rules, so the program won't allow the change. The alternative now is to undo to the 6th run, then input the game from there again. Print a scorecard first.

FTM has enhanced editing on the future release list, I am not sure where it is with priority.

A related question. 5 run limit, 4 runs scored so far in the inning, bases loaded. Our slugger comes up to bat (this didn't actually happen, fortunately, but it could have, and I didn't know what to do...). Let's say he hits a home run. I'd like to credit the hitter with the HR, but once the runner on 3rd scores, the inning is over with just 5 runs scored. If I credit a home run, all the runners will score, making the actual score wrong. How would I credit the HR (or even a double), but only allow one run to score?

The home run is a challange, in the current version.. the single, double or tripple is not.....

you will see on the "what happened to runner at x" screen a button on bottom left called "run not scored".. you use that to put a runner, safe at home and not have run count. great for walk off base hits or run rule/limit leagues

the home run is odd, because, major league allows it and the RBI to count in a walk off home run situation, but if you hit less than a home run, mlb and most other leagues, only count the needed runs to 'win by 1' in a walk off hit situation.. so that is how FTM originally built the logic.. if down by 1, bases loaded, you can hit a tripple and only score 2 runs. one to tie and one to win, the third runner would be safe at home but not score...

I believe FTM has been asked to add a run not scored option to home run, for run limit leagues. but not sure where on the priority list. until then if you have a walk off home run in a league with a run limit, you will have to choose to give a tripple, or score more runs..

We have had this discussion in a previous post. According to the Little League rule book, the inning ends the instant the 5th run crosses the plate. As of right now, the Home Run actually becomes a one RBI single. It sucks for the player who hit the home run, but that is the proper way to score it. I have asked my UIC for the Senior Minor division (who also plays with the 5 run per inning limit) and he has said the same thing.

bryan's point is about a peculiarity in scoreing rules, around 'how many bases should you credit the batter for in a walk off hit and how many RBIs, and it depends on the league rules you follow, (eg MLB, NCAA, MFHs, LL etc) ...if interested in "how many you should" - please do see the thread indicated. ."

If you all you are asing is "how to use iscore" to not credit a run, see my comments here on how to us ethe "run not scored button" to not exceed runs per inning.

No, didn't confuse me. Thanks for the information. If I read it right, for a single/double/triple, I can use the run-not-scored option and give the batter full credit for his hit. For a home run, the run-not-scored option doesn't exist, so using it would score too many runs. I suppose I could argue that since the inning ends as soon as the 5th runner crosses the plate, that the home run is actually a "ground rule double" or something similar. Yea, not what the home run hitter wants to see, but that's just how it goes when limiting runs.

Having an option to set a run limit for any given inning and having iScore handle the credit appropriately would be my vote. Failing that, the run-not-scored option for home runs would be good choice. Perhaps in a future release....
