Question about rosters from one season to another

Post by hectorcrpr » Thu Oct 22, 2015 9:56 pm

This would be my third year with this program, absolutely awesome... But i have a question

In the second season, I just keep using the same teams, and just add the new players to the rosters, without erasing the old ones.

The question is: What is more recommended: Erase all the players from the previous season and start the roster from scratch, or is there any way to put the new players (and some from the previous season who are still on the team without having to erase all the players?

I'm asking because when I print the lineup card for each game, the old players who are not on the team keep appearing on the card..

Thanks for your help

Doing scorekeeping with iscore for both high school and college teams that lose and add players each year, I've just made the players that graduate "inactive". Using the "leagues" then I can control keeping their stats from previous years but they don't show up on the roster in the year currently being played. I use an android phone, if that makes a difference.

I'm not printing out rosters though, so have no idea what the "inactive" button does for that.

There is no one "right" way. Some users like to use leagues. I prefer to set up a new team each year (even though most players are the same.) You can still get multiple year stats for a player if you wish through player manager. It just seems cleaner to me, plus limits the number of leagues I need to use each year.

I'm using the iPad to score my games, but I don't see the option of "inactive" on the players profiles... can someone tell me where is it?

On Android phone I go into team manager and select team then go to roster. When I select a player there I have the option at the bottom of the screen to select active or inactive.
