Change Team Name on team website

Post by lmcphail » Sat Apr 09, 2016 12:57 pm

We have a team website and since the fall season, our team has expanded in our league to a National team and an American team. The team website is called Vernon Vipers 16u (http://iscorebaseball.com/vipers16u" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;) and now I need to change that, since we'll have a Vipers National and Vipers American. All players are in the roster for each team, although only 9 or 10 of them are in the lineup and positions for the two games we play on Sunday (we play either a 9 inning game or two 7 inning double headers for each team). I realize that I will need to have another team site, but I'd like to change the URL from Vernon Vipers 16u (VV16U), at http://iscorebaseball.com/vipers16u" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; to, for example, Vernon Vipers National (VVN18) at http://iscorebaseball.com/vipers18n" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; and Vernon Vipers American (VVA18) at http://iscorebaseball.com/vipers18a" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;. Of course, I'd like the stats and games to remain for Vernon Vipers 16u and all the players.

I've already changed the teams in my iScoreBaseball Team Manager, as I said both teams are in there and all players are on both rosters, as a couple of them might move back and forth. I assume I get another team site, name it for the Vernon Vipers American (VV18A) vipers18a.

I have an eTeamz site at http://vernonvipers.org" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; that I use as the main site, so I can really link to whatever the team sites are named, but it would be nice to get the ones that I'm looking for. I would love to be able to import stats into the eTeamz site teams, but I don't have the patience to do it manually and they're just working with GameChanger, since that's the one that LLB is pushing. Why, I don't know -- it's only available on iOS, no Android. I wish they'd partner up with you guys at iScore! I suppose I could just ignore the "team" sites on eTeamz completely and link right over here, but there is a lot already in eTeamz for our scheduling, locations, and our Little League stuff.

Suggestions, tips, and tricks appreciated! We love our iScoreBaseball, and want to keep the stats, games, and functionality for both teams, as well as historically for the Fall ball team!

Thanks,

OK, I couldn't really wait to see what suggestions came out because both teams open tomorrow (unless we get the 4-5 inches of snow they've been talking about). So here's what I did...

I kept Vernon Vipers 16u (VV16u) http://iscorebaseball.com/vipers16u" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; - this was our first team, a Fall team, and we have stats and games in there, so I figured on keeping it.

I added Vernon Vipers American (VV18A) http://iscorebaseball.com/vipers18a" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; - I added players to the roster that will be playing primarily this team; we can add others in if need be.

I added Vernon Vipers National (VV18N) http://iscorebaseball.com/vipers18n" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; - See above ;-)

Yes, it's an additional $20, but we have new players on both American and National that weren't on the original Vipers, if I turned vipers16u into national or american, the game stats and players would be all confusing. This way we have everything there. And I can link them up at http://vernonvipers.org" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; any way I want to, without worrying about who was where when.

:: shrug ::

You did what I would do .. create a new Team for each team

Yes, you could have saved 20$ and re purposes your fall url ,
But this easier and cleaner approach

( Come fall, If you can reuse one or both sites and save a buck then on renewal)
