Deleting "Extra" MLB players

Post by Kevin1963 » Thu May 13, 2010 9:47 am

I purchased iScore the other day and decided to test it out on my iPod Touch (64GB) by scoring the game Wednesday between the White Sox and Twins using ESPN's pitch by pitch boxscore. I entered all of the players on the White Sox roster (my team) and the only the players who played that particular game for the Twins. After running through it, I thought since I am going to several White Sox games this season in person that I'd spring for the $19.99 MLB Rosters add-on. So I did that and I noticed that although I deleted the teams I created in iScore as well as the game I scored, I have doubles of all players I entered for both teams on the Player Manager screen (2 Cuddyers, 2 Thomes, 2 Konerkos, etc). I was able to delete many of the extra players using the edit/minus sign/delete/OK on the Player Manager screen (I can tell which of the two to delete by the lack of data on the player card), but in several cases, every time I try doing that, it kicks me out of the program completely. I've shut off the iPod and restarted to no avail.

Is there anything I can do to just "start fresh", such as deleting the app from the Touch and reloading it back on and downloading the MLB rosters? Any ideas welcome.

By the way, it was a blast to play with! Thanks!

If you truly want to start completely over, yes, you can remove it from your device, and when you reinstall, you can download the MLB rosters again. This will start your database completely fresh.

There IS a but in the 2.70 version related to deleting players in certain situations, and that is fixed in the 2.75 release that is currently awaiting Apple's approval. We submitted it last weekend, so are hoping for approval any day now, and you would then be able to delete the players that it is not currently letting you delete.

That worked! I think I just needed assurance that deleting the game from the Touch wouldn't void my MLB players purchase. Looking forward to having fun with this great software. I was born 25 years too early; I could have have used this playing my old table baseball games!
