Foul tip straight back to the catcher

Post by wcrapps » Sun Jun 12, 2011 3:52 pm

Two strikes, batter tips it straight back to the catcher, who catches it. Ump calls it out. How is this scored? Also, how specifically is it scored in iScore? I thought it was an out like a foul ball / fly ball, but fly ball in iScore didn't seem appropriate?...

It is a swinging strike. Just enter it just like any other swinging strike. If the fact that the batter tipped the ball is of interest to you, you can enter a note on the pitch, but statistically, it is nothing but a swinging strikeout.
