Update Stats

Post by lerobroy » Thu Jun 23, 2011 2:27 pm

I'm the "official" scorekeeper for my son's team. We recently had to miss 4 games. I have the score book from those games. How do I enter the information from those games into iScore?

I am not sure I understand the question.... You can just set up the game as normal, under game manager, new,....then edit the date in the game name field, edit the start day/date..and score like normal..

you can use the paper scorebook to enter a game in iscore. it wont be perfect, but you should at least get the basics. If the game date is important, you can change that on the main game page. an alternative to entering each game would be to create a dummy game and then override the stats for the cumulative stats of the missed games. Your total games would be off, but the cumulative stats would be correct. I think it is cleaner to enter each game using the paper scorebook as your guide.

I'm not clear if you are a new iScore user or a veteran. If you are a veteran you can score from the book as normal. If you are new to using iScore to score games then the training videos would be quite useful. I have attached a link below. Please continue posting so we can help you to the finish line.

Sorry that I wasn't very clear on my first post concerning inputting from a normal scorebook. I am a "veteran" iScore user. The problem is that the scorebook was recorded in a very informal, if not incomplete manner. I can determine what each batter did on each at bat with some effort. What I can't figure out is who played where in the field, who pitched and how long did they stay on the mound, etc...

I plan to meet with the person responsible for the scorebook and see if we can re-create some of the entries so that I can enter them correctly in iScore. Thanks for all of your inputs/suggestions.

Sorry to hear the casual rules score keeping. :) I have been in a similar situation. As you suggest interviewing the scorer and perhaps a coach you could probably get reasonably close on pitching. The fielding stats would be harder to work out.

You may also want to check with the scorekeepers of your opponents. Maybe they kept better books, or better yet, maybe some are iscore users and you can inport your completed game. (one can only dream.)
