Scoring a Double Header

Post by kanitch » Tue Apr 08, 2014 6:54 am

Hello, I am new to iscore. However, my son plays a lot of tournaments and we have multple games and even sometimes double headers. We play 7 innings and it seems that I can only get one game in within the battery life of my IPad. I checked into a few portable chargers. Don't know which one would work the best. So my question is can I score one game on the IPad then another one on another IPad, then transfer the game to my main IPad? Or can anyone recommed a fast quicker portable charger that works?

Just as a point of reference, I also score 7 inning games. I can score two games on one charge and still have enough for another few innings if I am careful. Suggestions for battery conservation are pretty standard; turn off wifi. If you aren't score casting, put the iPad into Airplane Mode. I also turn off Bluetooth.

For battery backup, I use a Monoprice product. Search for product ID# 9283. This will not really charge the iPad while you are scoring, but it will keep up with the battery drain. I have scored 5 games in a day with scorecasting turned on and still had lots of juice left over.

Another big drain is screen brightness. Problem is, it is often needed. But, if scoring at night or in a shady area, turn the brightness down as much as possible.

You really should be able to get more than 1 game on an ipad though.

Monoprice is great, so +1 on that rec.

You can use multiple devices and then data share them between devices. See the user manual in my signature. Data Sharing.

I am still using a 1st gen iPad, and I can get in three games (barely). If you are able to turn the brightness down to between a third and half brightness you should be good for two games.
