Play by Play - html issue

Post by allrounder » Thu Mar 04, 2010 4:31 am

Hi guys!

I've found two more items were the raw data isn't translating properly to html in the Play by Play section for games - "In Park Home Run" and "Runner Hit by Ball"

Loving the team website - Ainslie Black Bears - sent the link out to my team today!

why does the text "(Unknown) replaces (Unknown) on offense" keep appearing - I'm pretty sure I've been doing all the substitutions correctly.

thanks

We will fix the "Runner Hit by Ball" not translating in Play by Play right away.

We will look at your data to see about the Unknown replaces Unknown to see what is causing that.

I noticed an issue with my play-by-play also. It didn't show the leadoff hitter at the begining of the game. Instead it shows his single at the first notation of the 2nd batter.

example:
Top of inning 1
M Mora Single, Ball, Foul, Foul, Foul, Strike (looking), Strikeout Swinging

I thought maybe it was just a glitch because he hit the first pitch of the game for that single.

Fixed it --- batter getting on base on first pitch of game was causing the issue, but should be fixed now.

I had an issue with the play by play also. An injured player was subbed out and i made the change from the substitution screen for defense, but forgot the change the offense. So in the next inning when it was the subbed player's at bat it still showed the original player up. I caught this and from the misc-show lline up screen I changed the batting order. All looked correct from the stats, but on the website play by play it still showed the original player information (this was after 1 export). When I noticed this, I went to pitch by pitch from the game manager and although it was right there I edited the substitution replacing the actual player with himself, exported again. Then when I checked the play by play it showed that J B replaced J B, which was my last edit. Not a big deal but thought it was worth mentioning.

The correct way to sub on offense would have been to click the batter, and put in a substitution that way (actually, you could have done both the offensive and defensive substitution at the same time... there is a toggle at the top when the substitution screen comes up). By changing the Starting Lineup, you were actually changing it to say that the player started the game in that lineup position.

We intentionally make offensive and defensive substitutions two different things to follow the "score what you see" approach. When you see a batting change, you don't always know if it is a pinch hitter (with a double switch), or a full sub. If you do know, you can make both changes at once. If you don't, you make the change as you see it.

Thank you.
