Is there a way you can do either one of the following:
1. Organize the seasons/leagues into a tree structure? Over time, we will have multiple seasons where our team participates in several tournaments during that season? I think visually on the league page, I am starting to have so many leagues (1 for each tournament) that the information on the page is becoming overwhelming and cluttered; or
2. Have a way to hide/unhide the league names on the league page so that what I see is only the current season of tournaments?
The problem is we do so many tournaments that it is becoming difficult to manage how I organize them on the league page.
I hope I explained this clearly.
Thanks

Re: Leagues/Seasons
I second this request. I envision a directory of leagues with multiple levels.

Re: Leagues/Seasons
The idea for some league hierarchy and organization has been raised before and is reportedly on ftm's list
That said i doubt it is near the top nor do i expect it anytime soon, so many of us have created workarounds to help organize and manage long list of leagues
Your scenerio is very common. The trick is to realize games can be assigned to multiple leagues, and generally only a few are really active at a time...then if you establish a strucured naming convention, you can manage leagues more easily....
Example,
I have two teams (son and daughter) that play in multiple years, multiple seasons, multiple tournaments, leauges and types of play... I set up leagues for each year eg 2009 all, 2010 all, 2011 all, and they play four seasons, aka spring 10, summer 10, Fall 10, winter 10, (repeated for 2009 and 2011), then we have tournaments, (all with unigue names ) eg. halloween 2010 , thanksgiving 2010, veterans day 2010.. (can set up the structure at any time, if you decide later to add or remove hierarchy) i also have generic leagues for pool play, friendlies and bracket play.. ( In the end each game is assigned four leagues, year, season, tourny, type..eg 2010, fall, halloween, pool play.. I can set leagues to filter thus by any of thease, year, season, tourney, or type..i can see lifetime by setting leagues to all.or say lifetime bracket play, by selecting each year and bracket play. Although lengthy in number very flexible
Ok, you say you get this and although takes some time to set up, still leaves you with an unwieldy long list of leagues. That is when you now insert structured names to force sort...
I find i really only have a few active leagues at a time, and i put a _ , 0, or 1in front of them to force to top for easy check assignment to each game
Example.
_. Veterans day 2010
_. thanksgiving 2010
0. Winter 2010
0. Year 2010
1. Pool play
1. Friendlies
1. Bracket play
You could also create more elaborate number system to force sorts
E.g.
1. braves lifetime
1.1 2010 braves
1.1.1 spring braves
1.1.1.1 memorial day t
1.1.1.2 spring flig t
1.1.2 summer braves
1.1.3 fall braves
1.1.4 winter braves
1.2 2011 braves
Etc etc

Re: Leagues/Seasons
The main concern is just over the length of the list for the leagues. The structured outline list doesn't really solve that problem, although I think I can use it for now to at least keep it more organized. It's still a very raw solution. I could live with the long list, if there was just some way to have a hide/unhide feature so you can only see the current leagues on the list.

Re: Leagues/Seasons
We will work on ways to better manage long lists of leagues. Thank you for the suggestions.

Re: Leagues/Seasons
Obviously it is a workaround. it is something you can use now w/o any additional programing... Believe me, i have a long list of leagues. In practice, the very simple step of forceing a few to the top with leading zero, makes the leagues i need on one screen 90% of the time
