Future Version Option - Managed Subs...

Post by OhioTex » Fri Apr 29, 2011 12:57 pm

Food for Thought

Preface with. I love the Score What You See Model of iScore.

So this is food for thought for a future version down the road (4.x +).. an advance option setting "managed subs" on/off..

I see iscore gaining traction at the high school level and above where the traditional substitutions are "managed", for that user community, I can see the value in reduced data entry for straight substitutions.

disabled = like today. offense and defense subs are independent. which is perfect for bat all, unlimited defensive substitutions youth leagues in softball and baseball.

enabled = like major league, college, high school and select tournaments that require substitution management, defensive player must take the spot in batting order.

I thought I would post to create some user feedback on perceived value..

I would like to second this request.

I would also love to see a bull pen management for pitchers also, where when you select the pitcher position only the players assigned to the bull pen would come up.

It sounds like a nice idea, but we used to have this and it didn't work. Double switches always became a problem. What happens when you are scoring, and three new fielders are in the field? What would you do? There is no way to know which players multiple subs came in for on offense. We used to have all kinds of problems when we had this type of scorekeeping, and now it is never a problem.
