Text option to send coaches info about game

Post by jasoncardenas21 » Tue May 25, 2010 7:16 am

I would like if there could be a text button that you could press and it would instantly send the coaches a summary of what is going on in the game. Most importantly, pitch counts. I end up leaving the program and sending them a text to notify them where their pitcher is at. If possible, I think this would be a pretty great enhancement.

Thanks for your great support.

"summary of what is going on in the game" is different than just pitch counts. We have the Twittercast option that can be used to send a snapshot of the current situation in the game, and if the coach is following you on Twitter, he would be able to receive this as a text message. For the "pitch counts", are you looking to send the coach updates on total pitch counts for the current pitcher? We can add that as an option for one of the twitter messages we can send if that's the case.

Yeah, pitch counts would be great, I send them a text at the end of every inning which shows how many pitches they have since we are limited to 85 per pitcher. Thanks, you guys are amazing.

I like the idea, but.... please check your league rules.. in many leagues (NFHS, and NCAA for instance), Coaches are not allowed to have electronic communication devices. Electonic scoring devices have been written into NFHS rules as allowed, but only as scoreing aides and not for communications.
