runners in motion

Post by dalupus » Sun Apr 03, 2011 10:41 am

It would be nice if there was a way to indicate when runners were in motion and when they were not.

For instance if there was a hit and run whether the ball was fouled or hit or whatever it would be helpful if there was a way to record that the runner was in motion so that we can go back and see if we can see any kind of pattern in when the opposing coach likes to send the runners.

Also would love to see a quick pickoff attempt option. It gets old having to hit the runner then pickoff attempt then p and 1b for every pickoff attempt.
There is plenty of room to simply add a button for say (pickoff attempt 1-3)
Also would love to see a count of pickoff attempts somewhere.

Thanks,
Dal

You can use notes to enter runners in motion if you would like. There are not any statistics for tracking that type of thing, so notes would be the place to put it.

You can see pickoff attempts as the "PKA" stat in Fielding Stats for a player.

We have to record the touches for the pickoff attempts because there are many possibilities (1-3, 1-4, 1-5, 2-3, 2-4, 2-5).

right I understand you need to record the touches but for a pickoff attempt at 1st or 3rd 99.99 percent of the time it will be 1-3 and 1-5 conversely.
What I proposed was simply to have a button say under the pickoff attempt to say pickoff 1-3 and so on according to the base that you can quickly get it entered but also leave the standard pickoff button on there incase something odd happens.

or have some kind of swipe thing like we do for quick outs

for instance if you swipe the player on first it might bring up a menu of
pickoff attempt (1-3)
picked off (1-3)
stole second
caught stealing (2-4)
caught stealing (2-6)
advanced to second wild pitch
advanced to second passed ball

same kind of thing you do with the quickouts but with the base runners.
