Why no boxscores?

Post by rivkah62 » Tue Aug 16, 2011 12:52 pm

I can't fathom why you have ignored such an obvious and much needed function?

Other scoring apps have this, why doesnt iscore? The old classic newspaper boxscore is a must have and a no brainer.

Why oh why is there no boxscore?

I mean we all like the current set up, but with way too many stats it's cumbersome to post to a website.

Need a newspaper style boxscore, period!

have you tried to access your my.iscorecentral.com free Admin web site?
Newspaper style Box scores are there. (have been for over a year)
(assuming you option > export after you score a game, It is always a good idea for backup purposes too)

You also can access them from your Team Web site if you or your team purchased a subscription.

they are not generated on the device, you are correct in that. but they are available for free off the web..
In this fashion it is also easy to cut and paste or embed in other web sites.

additionally if you need to provide MaxPreps data, that is available off the admin site if you click on a team for a game.

Fair enuff, but pretty clunky don't you think? Why no on game boxscore like other boxscore apps?
One that you can export right after the game is over?

Gotta be an EZ fix right?

Just checked out the boxscore function online, a couple of thoughts.

It's pretty darn rudimentary, no attendance, no stats like pitches thrown, etc.

Just don't understand how you could leave out something as obvious as this from your app. E ery baseball/softball fan LOVES to check the boxscore. And for little league and coed softball it is cool to send a box after the game.

Come on guys, it's doable and should have been included as a basic feature long ago.

Thank you for the suggestion, we have it on our enhancement list. You can already send the complete statistics as an email right after the game as well as a Scorecard. It seems most users have been very happy with this as we do not get many requests to add box score. if demand for this feature goes up, the priority will go up as well.

Thank you.

I have been keeping score many years, and u til you guys came along I was using another product, but they missed the boat on the iphone, twitter, gamecast, etc bigtime. But before that they had you beat on the interface, stats presentation, boxscore, play by play, etc. Your stat files are cumbersome to view and can't be read without scrolling. They had a much better layout including a sweet desktop version.

U could learn a few things from them that would make you the undisputed leader.

I know in sales you are #1, but you have a ways to go. Luckily for you the other product has been a complete joke for customer support whereas u guys excel at it.

Boxscores are an absolute necessity regardless of demand. You know it as much as I do.

Box scores are also available on the team website (additional purchase.) while box scores are obviously important to you, I've never had anyone ask for them. There are many great features to iscore which make it an excellent product and easy to use.

good point team Mom.. team sites are a great one stop place for team members, to get box scores, sortable stats, score cards, iscorecast links, play by play, fielding positions, hit charts by game and more..

. In fact i use it more than the device for data readouts. Once i got the team sites up and running and team members and parents the links, we stopped emailing after each game. as it was just easier for them to go online and review it on their own

Thank you for your suggestion. We have not found what you are saying to be the case, but if our users do start requesting the features you are asking for, it will move up our priority list. We do not create the product around a single user's request, or the most vocal user's request, but we do look to the community for how they would like to see the product evolve, and if others feel the same way you do, we are sure they will chime in and that will help us prioritize.

Thank you again.

We use Iscore to put our Legion team's games up on the web. We have had requests from the media in our area for a box score and stats too. I typically e-mail them to the TV and newspaper, but they have commented that it would be nice to have on the main page as they access the games too.
