Newbie questions and ideas.

Post by don.english » Wed Aug 26, 2009 11:24 pm

First off let me say that I just downloaded this tonight after waiting on 2.0 for weeks and I LOVE IT. You guys did a great job on this thing.

OK... my daughter hits left and right. How can I move the batter to the left side when she hits left and vice-versa. I expected I could just double tap the batter or tap and drag the batter, but neither seems to work.

I love how I can double tap a fielder and set the fielding positions. So why when I double tap the batter do I get the same functionality? aka setting defense positions instead of batting lineup.

When you send out the scorebook, you get a PDF file, but when you send out the game stats it is just an email. Having the PDF to save off sure is nice. I would like to see the game stats sent as a PDF also.

iScoreCast ROCKS! When I am stuck at work during tournaments I will have this running while my wife broadcasts live from the field. WAY COOL! I have read some of the other requests posted and I like the idea of being able to send out a text like "wow what a hit!" and set a game status like "rain delayed for 3 hours".

OK, I think that is all for now. I hope I didn't ask any stupid questions that were covered in the tutorials. LOL

Oh I just thought of something else... If the wife and I both had iPhones, is there a way to copy games from phone to phone? I have two daughters that play competitive softball and we always have to split up on weekends. I would hate to have some of each girls stats in each phone.

Hey sorry to ramble, but it is 2:21 in the morning!!!

Kuddos all around!

To change whether a switch hitter is batting right or left you currently have to go into the Lineup (Misc->Show Starting Lineup),
select the player and in the Player Info screen switch the batting handedness. In an upcoming release we will allow switching from the scoring screen with touch and drag.

We assume in the games you are playing that all players bat. When all players bat there are no offensive substitutions so touching the batter will only allow a defensive swap. If you are playing a game where not all players initially bat on a team then touching the batter for that team will bring up the offensive substitution screen.

We will add stats as a pdf to our list of enhancements.

We can transfer databases from phone to phone if you Export from both devices, email us with the customer ID of both phones and tell us which phone is the source and which is the destination. This will not merge the two databases however. The source database will overwrite the destination database. It sounds like what you need is a way to merge the two databases. We will be working on a way to merge databases for a future release.

Thanks!

I will be reviewing the tutorials again today and attempting to score my first LIVE game tonight. I put in a 2007 College Super Regional game last night for testing and had to use the pause button a ton! However, I learned a lot and I do really like this application.

Keep up the great work!
