Softball - Starting w/ a 1-and-1 count...

Post by bshall31 » Thu Aug 16, 2012 1:37 pm

Any chance there will be an option to start a batter with a one-and-one count (one ball, one strike) when selecting the "softball" option within the application? For many competitive softball leagues this is common and doesn't necessarily count against the batter.

this has been suggested and on the wish list for future consideration. but it is not universal for all softball leagues, and the current solve is just to add a ball and a strike each time. (sorry)

Another option would be to just press In Play -> Walk or Out -> Strikeout when the third ball or second strike is thrown.

Thank you for the suggestion, FTMSupport! I'll use that method to keep the stats even for now.

We'll keep our eyes out for this feature in the future - despite its substantial, but not absolute use in softball league play.

Both methods described above result in an increase in the pitch count and doesn't truly reflect the number of pitches the pitcher threw, nor the type (ball or strike). I would like to see the option added to include a one ball and one strike count that doesn't reflect against the pitcher.

Thanks!
