Pinch Runner versus Courtesy Runner

We had a 2nd base runner that needed to be relieved to prepare as catcher, so I used the pinch runner option not knowing what that implied. However, that swapped these two players in the line-up in a later inning. After reviewing several posts in your forum, I realized I should have used the courtesy runner option. After the game, I tried to fix this in pitch-by-pitch and it would not allow it. To reconcile this, I manually documented all the plays from that point in time, used undo to restore the game to that point in time, used the courtesy runner option and re-entered all the data. Not Pretty!

If you have any suggestions or work arounds for the current version 2.02.11 that would make this issue easier to contend with please let me know.

Also, please consider the following enhancements:

1) warn the user that using pinch runner changes the line-up and ask the iScore keeper if he'd prefer a courtesy runner instead.

2) because some users may be more proficient, provide a configuration setting of experienced versus new user. Disable display of these warning messages if the user is experienced.

3) Allow changing the pinch runner to a courtesy runner after the game in the pitch-by-pitch event editor

Typically a runner that plays 2nd base can only be replaced by a pinch runner. A courtesy runner can only run for the pitcher or catcher.

I know that little league uses a "Special Pinch Runner" that is not an actual substitute, so I would recommend that if you are using it for this purpose, substitute the runner as a pinch runner, then re-sub at the beginning of the next inning/at-bat.
