Today I came across your software iScore:D . This App is exactly what I have been looking for, but it is for the iPhone and I own a Blackberry Storm:( . Is there plans to develop iScore for the Blackberry Storm
I hope so as I know that I can use this application, and there are other Storm users that would use it as well.
Thank you for your assistance:D

We currently only have plans to support iPhone and iPod Touch, but that may change in the future if there is enough demand on other platforms. We have had similar requests for Android and Palm Pre, but none as overwhelming as the Apple line of products at the moment.
Thank you for your interest.

Thank you for your response. I know that there have been requests on the blackberry forums for an app of this type.

And while I am happy to continue using an iPod Touch, as an Android/G1 user, I'd love to see an app for that (especially if there was a way to tie accounts - iTouch/iPhone and another platform such as Android - together to keep all stats scored on different devices/platforms for one team together...).

I read on a blackberry forum that the iScore is a great app. This person said that he uses it on his iPod Touch that he brings with him to his son's game, but would love it on his blackberry storm so that he would not have to carry both devices.
I certainly hope that you change your mind and look to support other devices. I would really love this app on my Storm as it would make my job easier to keep score while coaching my son.
Thank you

Any chance of making iScore for Blackberry Storm 2 since blackberry announced open sourcing for the Storm 2 and future models?
Baseball seasonstartsin lessthan 2 months, and having iScore on my Storm 2 while coaching my 7 year old's little league team would be fan-tastic:)

We are trying to track interest in other platforms through a poll we have put up here:
viewtopic.php?f=6&t=814" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
So far it looks like there is most interested in Android devices after the iPhone / iPod Touch.
Thank you.

For those users looking for iScore on other platforms...
You may want to consider investing in a standalone iTouch. The iScore Apps work great on an iTouch (for some even better as it is not interrupted with phone calls, and has better battery life). I know an itouch is a sizeable investment, but it is an option. (you can get discounted models on the net and apple clearance store). For some, the hardware cost is worth the investment just to have the iScoreBaseball app for their travel clubs.
(by the way, I am a Verizon blackberry user too, ... have found having my phone/email and iScore on separate units helpful - i often have others score for me now....).

OhioTex,
I can understand what you are saying, and truly appreciate your thoughts.
I am the type that the less devices that I carry the better off I am. I actually use my Storm2 during the games that I coach for lineups, and other information that I store on it for my sons team. I get no interruptions during the game as I turn off the radio, so I do not have to worry about email or telephone calls. As far as battery life goes with my Storm2 I can go 8 hours of heavy usage without having to recharge. If I need an extra batterythen I can always carry one with me and pop it in unlike with an iPhone/iTouch, but that is not the discussion here.
I just do not find the need to spend another $200 on another device to carry around when I have a device that is just as capable to run an application like iScore on it. This sounds like a monopoly if you ask me where a device is being touted in order to sell an App. The App should be available to all platforms to broaden its appeal to the marketplace instead of being limited to one segment; marketing 101 here.
I am hoping that the folks at Faster Than Monkey will see that the Blackberry platform is a viable platform to add to their lineup as there are many Blackberry users that have kids as well as themselves that play in either little or adult baseball/softball leagues that could value from this application. iPhone/iTouch OS owners are not the only ones out there that have kids as well as themselves that play in either little or adult baseball/softball leagues. Plus in addition Blackberry has a greater percentage of the smartphone market overall according to todays Wall Street Journal at 20.8% up from 15.9% a year ago. The iPhone OS share is 17.1% up from 12.9% a year ago. WinMo is at 7.9% down from 11.1%. With Andriod currently at 3.5% of the market share up from 0% a year ago. The majority share is still Symbian at 44.6% of the market down from 49.7% a year earlier. According to WSJ Blackberry Market Share has increased .7% more this year than the iPhone OS. So wouldn't it make sense to make a version of iScore compatible for BlackBerry? I would think so.

The BlackBerry market is not the same as the "BlackBerry Storm" market... that is the problem.
In a report from Flurry (company that tracks smart phones), as of November 2009, there are about 58 million users of iPhone plus iPod Touch. ALL of those users would be capable of running iScore. We can not find a definitive report on the number of BlackBerry Storm plus BlackBerry Storm 2 users (which is what we could potentially port iScore Baseball to), but it appears to be in the 2-3 million range... less then 10% of the potential market that iPhone + iPod touch has. If someone can show us numbers that are different than this, we would love to see it. That same report from Flurry also suggests that Android appears to be the #2 smartphone. This is also consistent with the poll we have run here on the forums asking what device people would like to see us port to. Obviously our sample size is much smaller than the Flurry report, but it appears there is more demand for the Android phones than any other device at this point.
We would love to be able to support all platforms, but it takes time and money to build the product, and if we are going to spend the time and money, we need to look for the biggest potential return which is currently the iPhone / iPod Touch market by far. We will be constantly re-evaluating that as the market changes, but it is hard to argue with the numbers at this point.
Thank you again.
