Adult Softball Requests

I manage an adult softball team in an MLS City Adult League. As I understand it MLS is large and the rules they follow apply accross a large consumer population. For this app to be useful to me there are two enhancements that are very important. In fact without one of them I am unable to use this app to score most of my games.
1) MLS requires we bat boy-girl-boy-girl-etc no exceptions. If we have an even number of boys and girls the app can work because the lineup becomes stable, but most often we have an uneven number of boys and girls. After the first time through the lineup it is messed up, since it will either end boy-boy or girl-girl. If you could create a flexible lineup, that could have sub-directories in it or utilize sub-lineups, or maybe just be able to adjust the lineup in the game by moving players around, or maybe just be able to skip and then return to a batter it would be very helpful. The league has a score system that does this and I hope this program will too. If there is someway to fast track this add on it would make this app usable to me. Until then I basically waisted $10, a real bummer.
2) Since pitch count isn't essential the second request isn't nearly as vital, but still very important. The league starts every batter with a 1-1 count. That would be a very nice feature to have as well.
I realize both of these have been asked for before, and a number of months ago too. So, I don't have my hopes up that they will be added anytime soon, but I really hope they will be. Thank you, otherwise the app looks good.

The first issue (boy/girl/boy/girl) has some issues that make it extremely difficult beyond just the batting order. We have been putting thought into how to handle this, and can probably get the batting order correct, but one of the bigger issues would be the scorecard. How would a scorecard be generated in a case like this? Maybe the solution is that in this situation, stats are kept, but no scorecard is available. Have you seen any scorecard formats that handle these rules? Do you have any links pointing to them?
Thank you.

I haven't seen a scorecard, they just give us a print out. But if you created two score cards for a coed team (ie boys scorecard and girls scorecard) that could work. If that is too difficult you could use the standard scorecard and make it nonlinear. In otherwords it would look just as if you skipped batters in the lineup. A third option would be to make the top half one gender and the bottom half another gender. In that case it may not be as easy to read but the info would be there. I think it is best to initiate the lineup options and maybe disable the scorecard until a suitable solution is available. At least that way the stats could easily be kept and the games easily scored.

Separating of scorecards into boys and girls wouldn't really work because you really need to be able to look back to the previous batter to see who is on base, etc. The order of the rows is definitely important. The closest thing we have come up with (I think someone may have suggested this to us in the past) is to just list each batter sequentially (so batter #1 in the lineup would wind up being listed multiple times - once for each at bat, etc.). The downside of this is you can not just look across a row to see how batter #1 did for the entire game, but the upside is you have a "scorecard"... though it is really just a graphical play by play listing at that point.
We can probably come up with a solution that does not include scorecards, but does keep the stats properly, and the play by play listing would be correct as well. We will keep it on our priority list.
If anyone has workable scorecards for this scenario, please let us know (we have asked in the past as well but have never gotten a good response... but maybe someone will stumble upon this thread that has an idea).

At least the stats and play by play would be something. That would make the program so much more usable to adult coed softball players. The scorecard is nice but the stat tracking is what is essential.

I know this is an old thread, but I am new here and would like to say that I agree 100% with GregAlso. My priorities are the same and would be happy without the scorecard or with the alternate version that lists players multiple times.

I don't use iScore because of it's inability to handle boy-girl batting orders. I've never played in a coed league that didn't go boy-girl-boy-girl so I'm hard pressed to understand why it's such a low priority. Having a traditional scorecard isn't as important as just keeping track of scoring in the game and having stats. Additional niceties would be 1-1 pitch count (that should be easy to add) and 2 bases on a straight 3 pitch walk to a guy. I really like iScore but when we bat everyone and have a different number of guys and girls it's too much of a hassle to constantly chane the lineup.

Has this issue ever been resolved. I too would love to use this app for Coed Softball League.
Thanks

As you can see from the poll, while there is some interest, it is not overwhelming the way it was with adding Android support (which we have now done). We are always trying to balance our resources against the top requested customer features, and right now, the alternating male / female lineups of co ed softball just has not had the kind of requests that other features have had. This is not to say we will not add the capability... we will just add it in time with the priorities we set based on feedback.

I also would like a guy/girls lineup feature as well.
At the very least, having the skip batter interface ask which batter I would like to skip to would make the program more tolerable for the co-ed softball audience.
