Catcher ERA?

Could we add Catcher ERA to the defensive stats? I did it sort of manually last year and it was fairly telling. I think it wouldn't be hard to calculate. Heck, the AVG, OBP for a catcher would be interesting as well.

We will add it to our enhancement list for future consideration. Doing a little research on it, it appears it has been shown that it is not a very statistically significant value:

We will keep it on our enhancement list however.
Thank you.

Thanks for the quick reply. I found the Wiki article enlightening.
I had been keeping it by hand and noticed some significant differences at the youth level (over the course of a 100 game season) which is why I had asked. I'm guessing that the higher you go the less relevant it is. Thank you for considering it.

Good point the statistical significance of stats can vary by level of play

On this point about catchers ERA. If I am correct I was wondering why a solen base goes against the cather. Especially when the runner is stealing on the pitcher. How does this stat work..

Stolen Bases are traditionally tracked against the catcher because the catcher is the one that can throw a runner out.

As the father of a catcher, a lot of a catcher's ability to throw out a runner depends on the pitcher on the mound as well as whatever ability the catcher has. Check out this article on how important, even at the major league level, being quick to the plate is for a catcher's chance to throw out a runner.
