scorecard display

Post by nicett » Thu Oct 01, 2009 6:53 pm

just scored a game and the scorecard is not displaying a play correctly. In the 5th inning, bases were loaded no outs. Batters hits a ground ball to short stop who makes a bad throw to home; thus, runner on 3rd scored on the error. Then, the runner on second tried to score but the catcher caught the runner in a run down and the runner was tagged out going back to third. I scored this play as follows:
fielder's choice, 6-2, runner on third to home, safe - error on short stop ( the scorecard has this correctly, the runner scoring on e6). For the runner on second, however, i inputed: out, home, tagged out, 6-2-5 (third baseman made the tag). the scorecard reads fc6-2 in red.

2. The previous batter (he batted before the above batter) reached first base on an error by short stop ( yes two in a row), but the scorecard shows e2-5. It should read e6, neither the catcher not the third baseman were not in the play.

I looked at the pitch by pitch and it shows the above scenario. Did I do something wrong?

It is hard to say where the issue is without looking at the data. If you can export your database to us (Options menu, Export) and email your customer ID to us (bottom left of options menu) to support@fasterthanmonkeys.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false, and tell us which game, inning, and players are involved in the issue, we will take a look.

Thank you.

Have you been able to review the data?

Yes, we have, and in fact we were able to fix 2 issues based on your scoring. There is a problem in the scorebook in iScore in certain situations when there are "multiple sets of touches" involved in a single play. We have used your database to fix this issue for version 2.03 (which we will be submitting to Apple shortly). Nothing needs to change with the way you scored things --- it will just appear correctly with the updated version of iScore.

We emailed you back Oct 1 and also sent a seperate email of the scorecard to show the corrections. If you did not receive the emails maybe they went to your spam folder.

Thank you.
