Problem with (attempted) merged player

After entering players for a new team we were playing this weekend, I realized that one of the players was someone that I recognized. I exited the scoring screen, went into Players, merged the 2 players, and returned to scoring the game. When we played that team again, I noted that the player I merged showed a blank first and last name. I re-entered the name and continued on. Today, looking at the team, I see the player again without a name. I also note that the player card does not show the other teams that should be there from the merge. It appears that the underlying player has been deleted, but is still somehow linked to the team/games. I have exported my data to the server today.
