Suttio, once you have edited stats you should not recalc. When you recalc a warning screen comes up that you will overwrite edits when you recalc.

Thanks all for the learning opportunity...

In the end i see why iscore presumes the batter-runner safe on a "fielders choice" and not out when it comes to earned/uneared runs -( unless of course the official scorer judges it differently and then the stat over ride capability exists. )

My initial response to the post was right all earned runs "technically'" and iscore was right in its default assumptions .. (unless in the scorer judgement over rides, exactly why the stat override exists)

i definitely re-learned something along the way about fielders choices that i did not know i had forgotten. had forgotten one should not automatically assume batter who reached on Fielders Choice would have been out when you replay the inning w/or errors (or passed balls). (in practice most fielders choices i see are are true "options" so i would replay them as an out, but in re reading the rule definition on fielders choice. I now see it implies more of a "safe hit" presumption than an out, (the re learning point for me, emphasis added below in MLB quote) .. i recall the notion that benefit goes to the pitcher in replaying the inning w/ o error, as TurboAg mentioned, and assumed similar for fielders choice, but have no rule to back that assumption, in fact just the opposite, so i get why fielders choice more "presumed safe" than out.
MLB Rule 2. FIELDER’S CHOICE is the act of a fielder who handles a fair grounder and, instead of throwing to first base to put out the batter-runner, throws to another base in an attempt to put out a preceding runner. The term is also used by scorers (a) to account for the advance of the batter-runner who takes one or more extra bases when the fielder who handles his safe hit attempts to put out a preceding runner; (b) to account for the advance of a runner (other than by stolen base or error) while a fielder is attempting to put out another runner; and (c) to account for the advance of a runner made solely because of the defensive team’s indifference (undefended steal).
Thanks to all for the learning forum. (everyday)

OhioTex, here's the reference to the rule I was referring to (below). While it initially seems to be at odds to the previous determination of FC, keep in mind this is ONLY for purposes of determining earned runs by means of reconstruction of an inning that had errors (or PB in this case) in the inning. Remember, if the previous runner hadn't been on base, there wouldn't have been a question of FC, or not, so you try to account for that in the reconstruction exercise, by giving benefit of the doubt to the pitcher.
MLB Rule 10.16. In determining earned runs, the official scorer shall reconstruct the inning without the errors (which exclude catcher’s interference) and passed balls, giving the benefit of the doubt always to the pitcher in determining which bases would have been reached by runners had there been errorless play..

thanks turboAg. I recall the " benefit goes to the pitcher in replaying the inning w/ o error"

What i was looking for more back up on was the assumption of safe (or earned) on a fielders choice.

the back up i was looking for was something specific on how to treat (earned or unearned) the runner on base who reached due to fielders choice that got out a proceeding runner, like the specificity included in the quote you gave earlier in rule 10.16.g that clearly lets you know who to charge the run to, just silent on if earned or unearned.
10.16.(g) When pitchers are changed during an inning, the official scorer shall not charge the relief pitcher with any run (earned or unearned) scored by a runner who was on base at the time such relief pitcher entered the game, nor for runs scored by any runner who reaches base on a fielder's choice that puts out a runner left on base by any preceding pitcher.
