Data Sharing

I share the scoring with another dad and I've successfully exported the games I have scored, and he has successfully imported them. However, I cannot import the games he has scored. He exports them, and gets the message that they were successfully sent to the server. When I go to retrieve data from the server (Options - Data Sharing - Get from Web Database) it says there are no new games. Are we doing something wrong?

After he exports, the Customer ID and Password you enter on your device when going to Options -> Data Sharing ->eGet from Web Database) should be HIS information. When he is getting information from you, he enters your information. When you are getting information from him, you would use his information.

To get his information, go to Options->Admin Website on his device, and make sure he has established a website, and it will have the Customer ID and Password of his device there.

Let us know if this helps.

I can get the teams to sync over. I can even get the number of the players to sync over. I just can't get the names of the players to sync over. This happens both from the web and bluetooth. What is happening?

Cheers,
Jason

When people have names not being seen, it usually means the players are not in the right leagues. The easiest way to check this is to just turn on the "All" league. Try that, then check the names.

The All league was checked, and I notice that the team I imported received the leagues that I have checked in the League Manager on the iPad. I then looked to see what league the first player listed for the team and the player only has the Default league selected. Funny that it knows to import the number of the player but not the name and the leagues he should part of.

I have already sent a support request regarding this on our other iPad. The data I'm trying to import is the data that was setup on the other iPad and its Admin site.

Cheers,
Jason

by design data sharing does not "bring over league assignments". when is was created it was assumed sharing among "acquaintances" who would most likely have different naming conventions than the source. so the design was to inherit what ever leagues are checked on receiving device at time of transfer, just like when you create a new game, team or player.. it inherits the enabled leagues at that moment.

looks like you are setting up you new ipads for the league. !!!

OhioTex,
Makes sense now. I was thinking I was missing something.

"Setting up"? More like struggling with setting up the league. I get that I'm trying to create something that the current iScore wasn't made to do, so I'm having to find work-arounds. I'm betting the league version will be much more developed for what I'm trying to do with our teams.

Cheers,
Jason
