Unable to change hit to error
Unable to change hit to error
On May 6th in the Phillies/Cardinals game, David Freese hit a fly ball to right field in the top of the 2nd. Jayson Werth lost it in the sun and the ball fell in for a triple. The official MLB scorer scored it a triple, no error. The play was then reviewed by MLB and was changed to an error well after the game was completed. I have gone into the game manager, selected that game, gone to the pitch-by-pitch edit screen, and selected that pitch. If I choose a "Safe" result, the only option on the screen is "Hit Triple". If I choose "Out" I have all the out options available. I am unable to change it to safe at third and charge an error to the fielder.
Re: Unable to change hit to error
unfortuneatly, as posted elsewhere in the forum.. this is a known limitation of the current version.. you are correct, you currently can not change a multiple base hit (e.g double, tripple) to a lesser base hit with error or reach on error in the pitch by pitch editor.

Re: Unable to change hit to error
I have a question about doing this the opposite way. I have a batter hitting a single and reaching 3rd on an error. I want to change it to a triple. When I go to the pitch by pitch it shows the 2 actions; the single and then reaching 3rd on an error. It does not give me an option to change the single to a triple and delete the error. Is this possible? or something I could export and have changed?
Thanks
Thanks

Re: Unable to change hit to error
You have actually identified exactly why it can't be done.. you can not change a single event into two (triple to hit + error), or two events into one (hit + error into triple). You can only change the reason for individual events. We are going to be allowing more detailed edits in a future release.
For now, to do game changing edits, you would have to undo to that point of the game, and re-enter the plays from that point forward.
