Coming to game late

Post by mrwalls » Fri Jun 04, 2010 11:39 am

I go to alot of games, and I don't always get there on time for various reasons. There is no way that I know of to start in the second inning for example, and continue from there. I would like to at least be able to have a "Arrive Late" option that lets me at least put a manual score in, put in pitch count, and then after the game, or better yet, during the game, catch up with whatever was missed. Plain and simple, it really needs to do the same thing that a paper scorecard can do, and really just work as well as one. I am not real pleased about the editing functions of this app, but am hoping things will improve as they already have. Let me know if I have missed something here. Thanks

We do not currently have a way of inserting plays after a game has already been scored. You can use Misc->End Inning and Skip Batter functionality to start scoring from any point, but you can not go back and fill the old data in later.

We are not using a "paper scorecard" as the model for our scorekeeping. We use the flow of the game and a "score what you see" approach. There are things we need to know and can calculate that a paper scorecard can not, and in order to do that, we need the full context of what led up to plays in order to make those calculations.

That being said, we will continue improving what can be done with post game edits in future versions.

I would recommend sticking with your paper scorecard and rescore the game later. I did this during this season for various reasons and I was down to less than 30 mins. It used to take me a lot longer to total up and enter the stats into an excel spreadsheet that game limited output. The iScore gives me more information and takes less time even though I do it twice.
