Earned run on passed ball?

Post by darinbu » Sat Jun 19, 2010 4:05 pm

Here's what happened in my game.

1. Batter #1 doubles.
2. Batter #2 walks. Runners on 1st and 2nd, no outs.
3. A passed ball occurs. Runners move to 2nd and 3rd.
4. Ground ball to short, batter #3 thrown out at first. Runner on 3rd scores, runner on 2nd moves to 3rd.
5. Batter #4 walks. Still 1 out, runners on 1st and 3rd.
6. Passed ball, Batter #4 moves to 2nd.
7. Batter #5 strikes out. 2 outs, runners on 2nd and 3rd.
8. Batter #6 grounds to 2nd, second baseman makes error. Runners on 2nd and 3rd both score, and batter #6 moves to 2nd on the error.
9. Batter #7 pops out to end the inning.

IScore gave the pitcher one earned and two unearned runs for this inning. I believe all three runs should have been unearned. The first run should be unearned because the runner would not have been on 3rd except for the passed ball, so wouldn't have scored on the groundout; the groundout should have resulted in runners on 2nd and 3rd with one out. Batter #4 walking should have loaded the bases. The second passed ball would have scored Batter #1 as an unearned run and moved the other runners to 2nd and 3rd with one out. Batter #5 strikes out for second out. Batter #6 grounds into error which scores 3rd unearned run.

How can I switch the run from earned to unearned to make the stats correct?

In the current version, you can not override the earned unearned assignment
s. FTM has reported elsewhere in the forum... Enableing post editing of earned/ unearned runs is coming in future version ( no specific timetable given)

I will defer to you or more knoledgeable others on if two or three unearned is correct.
