roster name / number bad assignment...

I'm not sure if this is something I did wrong to cause this issue but it is quite frustrating.

I scored a double header game last Thursday night. After the games, I went in to PbP to edit the starting lineup player names (for the opposing team) associated with the player numbers I had already entered during game play. The weird thing is, when I edit game 1 with the correct names, game two places that name on the wrong player number in game 2. Conversely, If I go in to game 2 and enter the correct player names it consequently places the wrong names on the wrong player number in game 1. 3rdly, if I go in to the team manager and enter player names for this team, only one of the 2 games get's the names correctly assigned to the proper person.

I will forward the game information to iscore support so they can help explain what's going on here...

Thanks

This is not the app doing anything wrong. It sounds like you created game 1 and game 2 with the same team at the same time, and made edits to the player numbers independently in each game. The player numbers are tied to the LINEUP for that game, not the team ROSTER. Player names are always tied to the underlying player record. So if you edit a player number in a game, it will not effect another game, but if you edit a player name, it will effect all games the player played in.

Players can have a different jersey number from game to game, so we store that information with each game played. A player's name does not change from game to game, so we store that in the underlying "Player Record". It sounds like in each of the two games, you assigned the jersey numbers to different players.

The way to fix this is going to be to get one game exactly the way you want, then you will have to go to the second game, go to Pitch by Pitch, and rearrange the starting lineup to match by player names, then edit the jersey numbers to match the player names.

In the future, if you have a double header against an unknown team, create the first game, do your scoring, then go to the starting lineup when done, and click Options, "Copy Lineup -> Roster". This will copy all the changes you made to the players during the game back to the Roster for that team. Then create your second game, and you will see all the right player names / jersey numbers for the opposing team.

That explains it! Thanks for clearing this up.....I should not have created game 2 until after I had game one in the books and the lineup copied to the roster.

Thanks for the lightning fast response! You guy's really are faster than a monkey!!! lol!
