Pitch count does not reset when Sub pitcher in

Post by toocoldalanna » Mon Jun 11, 2012 6:41 am

Situation: Scorer missed pitcher change so uses the pitch by pitch (while game is in process) to edit-substitution and puts the new pitcher in. The play by play changes with the correct pitcher, if you look at the games stats they are correct, however the on screen current pitcher will show the new pitcher but keeps adding the old pitchers pitch count.

I believe this is a known issue. Has been out there for a while, so hopefully a fix will be available soon.

Is there any update to this issue? To recap, while scoring a game, I did not notice the pithing change until middle of the inning. My methodology is to scroll back up to the start of the inning and make the correct pitching substitution. That fixe's the score book but the "on screen" pitch count is wrong. Its annoying as the coach wants to know the current pitch count and I have to keep leaving the scoring screen to look at the scorebook page.

Thanks

The pitch counts are kept in memory as you score the game. If you do an edit to a previous pitch to change pitchers it will throw that internal count off. The final game stats (or viewing stats) will show the right counts. If you do a new pitcher substitution it will also reset the pitch counts for the new pitcher.

Thanks! It would be nice if you could consider an enhancement (even if the user has to press a "recalculate pitch count" button) that would refresh the pitch count in memory (displayed on the scoring screen). In the pace of the game, it is difficult to switch to different screens and the pitch count is a "stat" that coaches often want after each batter which results in a lot of bouncing around. I know, the right answer is for the scorer (me) to get it right at the time of the substitution but sometimes the umps or coaches don't really speak up about the pitching change...thanks for your consideration.
