Notes question

Post by jojolemon » Sat Feb 20, 2010 9:32 pm

The notes feature is great. But, I'd frequently like to "tie" the note to the previous play/pitch. Most of the time, it's not an issue...it's clear the note is talking about the previous pitch/play. But, when it's about the last play of an inning, it shows up in the pitch-by-pitch record as "belonging" to the next inning.

I'd really prefer that notes for a specific pitch/play be listed as notes for those pitches/plays on the pitch-by-pitch record. The only real solution to that, it seems, is to jot notes down by hand and then input them in the pitch-by-pitch after the game...since it's not convenient to switch modes during the action.

There basically seem to be two kinds of notes: notes that apply to what just happened and notes that stand alone. For example, I like to note when a batter squares to bunt...and that note should go with the pitch on which he squared. But, when a manager makes a visit to the mound, or calls an offensive time-out, those notes aren't tied to a pitch or play...they happen between pitches and plays.

I realize this is probably a rather tricky thing to do but maybe I'm missing something?

We will investigate the possibility of adding a previous pitch, next pitch button to notes for an upcoming release

i also believe there are some notes that apply to an entire game.. including league specific rules. weather condition etc. i always add them at front end and note as apply to all. but if you are creating "relates to" buttons, have one that ties it to entire game. and ideally prints it up front. before play.
