We submitted both the iPhone and iPad versions of iScore v2.80 to Apple today. Here are some of the highlights of the release:
  • Recaps - View half inning recaps for the entire game. See pitchers, pitch counts, runs, hits, errors, and left on base for each half inning.
  • Overrides - Ability to override the statistic data that iScore calculates.
  • Multitasking - Multitasking support when running on iOS 4.x device.
  • Twittercast Fix - Updated Twitter support to use xAuth method of authentication. Twitter now works more reliably.
  • Hit Location Optional - You can now choose to have iScore skip the hit locations completely to streamline scoring if you are not interested in collecting that information.
  • New Stats on Team Websites - All of the new stats that were added in the previous release are now available on Team Website. You can also choose the stats you want displayed on your Team Website (fyi... choosing stats to display on your team website is actually available NOW... if you select the newer stats to be displayed, they will appear when you get the update and do an export. Be sure to Recalc for your team before exporting after getting the update --- Recalc is a new feature on the team stats viewing screen)
  • In the Hole Batter - now displayed on iPhone.
  • Player Photo - you can now store a photo of each player that gets displayed on the "flip side" of the Player Card (requires internet access). The photo of the current pitcher and batter is also displayed in the HTML version of the iScorecast viewer if they are available.
There are several smaller features / bugs that have been addressed as well and will be seen in the release notes inside the update.

Thank you all for your patience. Adding the override capability required extra caution in getting this release out, and we always try and address the most requested features.

Did you mean to say to be sure to Recalc before exporting after getting the update? I just want to make sure I do this correctly. Is Recalc on a team-by-team basis? This feature sounds great BTW.

Thanks for getting this release ready!

Yes, we will correct the text to say be sure to recalc before Exporting... nice catch.

Recalc can be done on a game by game basis, or for all games for a single team. It serves two purposes... the main one being you will have the option of getting rid of your overrides if you want to, but secondarily, in the rare case such as this release where stats need to be updated for all games, this is a one click way of doing that.

What happens if you do not recalc before updating? I assume you can go just recalc and re export, correct?

You can always recalc and export again. If you do not do the recalc, then the new stats (first pitch strike, reach on error, etc) will not appear on your team website. This only effects people with team websites.

Does update include fielding & throwing errors?

No, we do not distinguish between fielding and throwing errors in this release. That feature is on our enhancement list for future prioritization however.
