Three request please
Three request please
Two games down and I love this product. Things that come to mind.
A Balls in Play for both batters and pitchers. Youth Minor League with all the errors that happen this stat would be helpful.
A First Strike stat.
An exit or back button. One of the subscreens. (one you hit in play; you are given many choices but if you have made a bad choice you have to go through two screens until you hit undo. Would be nice to have a cancel button on every menu screen.)
***edit***
Also, I have a lot of 'runner at second advances to second on wild pitch' when should have been advance to third as in the next line in the pitch by pitch report. Can we delete these useless entries in the pitch by pitch mode?
Thats it for now.
Thanks

Re: Three request please
When you are partway through a play, shake the device to get a "cancel" popup.

Re: Three request please
"Balls in Play" and "First Pitch Strike" are both stats we have on our list for future enhancements.
As jcbeckman mentions, "shake" to cancel out.
For the extra "runner at second advances to second on wild pitch" lines, we would have to look at your database to know why these are in there. Were you trying to advance the runner, and touching 2nd base instead of 3rd base while entering the play? If so, you could have used Undo at the time to undo the bad entry. We do not allow removing of play entry after a game has been scored. You can probably go in and modify those to be "Held Up" instead of "Advance on Wild Pitch", but without seeing your database, we are not sure what was entered. To send your database to us, use Options->Export, and email us your customer ID (bottom left of Options menu) to support@fasterthanmonkeys.com. Include a description of specific places in the game where you are seeing something you do not think you should be seeing.
Thank you.

Re: Three request please
It was user error that caused the line to say player at second advances to second on wild pitch. I did not think of the obvious to undo at the time of entry. Such simple fixes, that is great.
Thank you for including the Ball in Play and First Strike stat. Do you know when this update will come out?

Re: Three request please
When I first started using the app, I did the same.user error that caused the line to say player at second advances to second on wild pitch
Runner on 1st, I select it, the default is 'safe', but base is still '1st', with multiple options.
Logically, when you select the runner, and he's safe, I automatically think he has advance the base.
Is there a reason why the default is NOT the next base (2nd)? Or if runner on 2nd, default safe/3rd base.
Re: Three request please
that is a good question about the default. I would think that in more cases the play is at the next base versus the same base. Wild Pitch base advance, steals and DI will be more likely than pick off attempt.
Should the next base be default?

Re: Three request please
We do not want to move runners without them being forced over (which we DO do automatically) because we want the person keeping score to not be surprised about runners advancing bases.
When you touch a runner, the top down scoring would be "Out or Safe", "Base", "Why". In order to default to anything other than the base the runner is on, we would require you to enter the "Why" first which is awkward as really the Out or Safe comes into play first.
We went through many variations of how the flow should work on this, and feel it is the most intuitive and least error prone the way we have it now. An occassional "extra" entry of runner remaining on base is a small price to pay compared to having runners advancing without the scorekeeper having intended to do that. Once a play advances a runner, you can not move him back a base on a future play (other than using Undo), but you can always move a runner forward.

Re: Three request please
Your method makes sense to me. With a couple more games to practice I am sure I will not make those user errors.
Any word on when the next update will be out?

Re: Three request please
We are still testing the new release, but hope to post it very soon. Thank you.
Re: Three request please
when advancing base runners, could we have a shortcut so that if you touch an open base, it will move the closest base runner to that base, and with that eliminates the need for "out/safe" and "base". my wife is always forgetting to change the base.
Example, runner on 1st advances to 2nd on wild pitch.
Touch 2nd, and then chose "wild pitch".
