Scoring runs that don't "count"

Post by cherrybomb » Sat May 23, 2009 6:15 am

Our league has a 5 run max per inning (3 if its a first year pitcher in a non-tournament game).

Last night, we had 4 runs, and the bases were loaded. Batter hit a triple, ran home on an overthrow. This resulted in 8 runs for the inning. We only count 5 for the game, but I would like to enter them all to have things show up in the girls stats the way they should. is there some way this could be done?

We have accounting for max runs per inning on our list of future enhancements. We have not determined how we will enforce it yet, but it is something to watch for in a future release.

In the meantime, on a play like that, you can mark that the player hit the triple, for the runner on 3rd (which puts you at 5 runs), mark advanced to home by batter, for the runner on 2nd, just mark out at home, tagged out, and for the runner on 1st, do the same thing (if there were less than 2 outs).

This will allow the triple to be recorded in your stats, and will not record the extra runs beyond the 5 max.

But I want to record the runs, I just want to be able to designate if some "don't count".

If they don't count, why would they be recorded?

Because I want to be able to see what actually happened the way I would if I was keeping score on paper. In our game yesterday, even though only 5 runs counted, it was quite something for our girls to know that of the 9 players we had 8 went up to bat, and made it home in one inning - it looked rather cool in the scorebook.

OK... we will take this into account when we add features for the max runs per inning.

Thank you.
