Allowing more "complex" non intrusive post game changes

Post by Tomy. » Thu Mar 22, 2012 10:40 am

After reading through the posts and looking at the few times I needed to change events post game, mostly it seems adding or removing a ball or a strike would be useful in some cases. I understand how this is not practical if the change would affect the rest of the game (add a ball after 3 balls etc.). However in many cases such a change has no effect to the rest of the game, like:
  • I put in an extra ball that needs removed, or missed a ball that needs added given that the batter either stroke out or played the next pitch so this has no effect to the rest of the game only to the pitch count of the pitcher and the stats of the batter
  • Missed a strike that needs added or have an extra strike that needs to be removed, and the batter walked or was out in a way that the strike would not have an effect for the rest of the game only for the batter and the pithcer's stats
  • Marked a ball as a strike or a strike as a ball and the batter played one of the next pitches so this ball or strike has no affect again for the rest of the game, only for the batter and the pithcer's stats
This could potentially resolve a lot of the issues when post game the only way to correct a mistake is by rescoring the entire game (or doing a long list of undo's). A scorekeeper will mostly notice when he/she made a mistake in a way that affects the game (for example marked an strikeout for a ball and the display shows the new batter or inning over when still the same batter is on). Most issues that go unnoticed until you sync with the other scorekeeper are the mistakes that don't change the outcome of the game.
