Easy scoring question

Post by qcompgreg » Thu May 17, 2012 9:11 am

How do I:

1. Runner at 3rd. 2 outs. Batter hits grounder to 2nd baseman, who commits error. Runner at first is safe and runner at 3rd scores. Is the runner 'advanced by batter'? I am not sure how to NOT make it an RBI for batter.

2. Same situation. Batter is able to go to second because the Second baseman threw into the dirt. Ball stayed in play. 'On the throw'??

3. How do I correctly enter a Fielders Choice? Is the initial entry In Play or Out?

Sorry so basic. I have been using iScore for a month and love it, but now want to make sure I am entering things correctly so that I get the correct stats.

Welcome to the board.

1. Advance by ERROR and select player that committed error (note iscore will NOT double charge error)
2. not clear on what you are saying...can you clarify?
3. In Play

1. So for the runner, I also select error. I thought that I would then be reporting 2 errors.
2. Ignore the runner on third. Batter hits a grounder to shortstop and the shortstop throws into the dirt. The batter reaches first because of the throw, and is also able to get to second becuse of the same throw. Do I just again select In Play, error, shortstop for the initial play and then when it asks what happened to the batter on first, again select error, shortsop. iScore will only count this as one error?
3. So for a runner on second. Batter hits to shortstop and they get the Tag Out at third. The correct entry is: In Play, FC, (select where hit), SS-3B, What happend to runner on second: Out, Tag Out, SS-3B (again??) What happened to batter: Held up. Correct? Not sure why I have to enter in the SS-3B twice. If the runner was on first and was forced out at 2nd, i only have to enter the SS-2B once.

For #3, I just want to make sure I am entering this correctly.

Thanks in advance.

4. Runner on first and third. One out. Batter hits into FC 6-4 runner on first is forced at second. Batter reaches on the FC. Runner at third scores. How does he score? Should that be an RBI? If I enter Advanced by Batter, it is an rbi. Is that correct?

1. As noted, iscore will know to not charge two errors.
2. iscore would only count this as one error if done on the same play. If it should be two errors (one for allowing runner to reach first and the other for allowing runner to advance to second, say if he bobbled for the first error, then threw wild), you would score it in two steps. Error to reach first. Then tap runner, error to reach second. Now it will be scored two errors.
3. yes, correct. agreed, on tag outs it will ask again, force outs do not...also not sure why. you can skip the first time it asks if you want. you didnt mention it, but make sure its out, third, tag out.
4. should be an RBI, yes, so advanced by batter is good.

sounds like you have a good grasp of it...
