Iscore and Sportngin

Post by dlstrickland » Mon Mar 25, 2013 12:54 pm

We tried scoring this weekend scoring and syncing back to the ngin site. It seems that in order for this to work the games need to be "discovered" and imported. I like the feature of importing opponents rosters for USSSA. However if the opponents roster arent imported from ngin it would create a duplicate team. Is there a way to import USSSA roster and match to an existing team? That way it would prevent duplicate entry?

Also, after the exporting of discoverable games upon completion they did not appear on our website. stlouispirates.com. Ngin tech support ask us to ask you to help shed some light on this.

When using Discover, iScore maintains the internal IDs of the site you are discovering from. If you want to have data update the Sport Ngin site, then you must use the Discover option from Sport Ngin so that the teams have their internet IDs. That is likely the only way they are going to be able to display the stat data for players.

If you Discover data from USSSA, it will have their IDs on the data which Sport Ngin will not recognize.

You can use the "Merge" functionality to combine data from two teams back into a single team. If you are going to be using Sport Ngin for your data, then you should Discover all data from there. If you have data that was discovered from USSSA, then you can still convert it to Sport Ngin with merge. After discovering the teams on both sites, go to Team Manager, and select the Merge option from there. Select the "Sport Ngin version" of the team in the left list, and the "USSSA version" of the team in the right list, then tap Merge, and the team in the right list will be "merged into" the team in the left list.

I have at least 2 games where we "discovered" from ngin. Is there a process other than "discovering" that needs to take place in order to sync the data to our ngin site?

We don't believe Sport Ngin has fully implemented their end yet. The Discover functionality was released as an early way to get data to your device. We believe Sport Ngin is very close to being ready to announce the full integration, but we do not know an exact date. We expect to have an official "joint announcement" when they are fully ready, but we would not be surprised if they have some of the integration already working.

Supposedly they do. They asked me to reach out to you about the syncing. I did everything they asked me to do but no luck on the sync.
