Batter recap

Post by rwicky » Tue Oct 12, 2010 6:21 am

It would be helpful if there was a way to quickly scroll to a batter's last entry in the play-by-play window. For example, the spray chart that comes up for a batter is very helpful but it doesn't provide as much info as a coach might like. It's difficult to determine if a ground out between 3rd and SS was handled by 3rd and so forth. It'd be great if you could touch on a spray chart line and have it go to the play-by-play entry for that ball or if you couuld have a pop-up with all of the last play-by-play entries for all of the at-bats for that player - kind-of a summary of what that player has done during the game. It would be even better if this could be done by touching the player in the line-up since I often get questions from the coach about what the upcoming hitters have done before they are at bat and I can't find any way to get that info without going into the scorebook view and it's hard to do while scoring the current batter.

Thanks!

THAT is a very cool idea! I would love to see that, even though in my case it's just for fun (I score table-top games).

We're 12 games into the next High School season and I continue to get this question constantly so I wanted to "bump" this request to make sure it's still in the wish list queue. I've gotten faster at bringing up the score sheet view and answering their questions using that but it is still time consuming compared to just scanning a larger format scoresheet like Glovers where the eye can pick it out really quickly. BTW - why doesn't the score sheet come up on the at-bat team automatically? Or at least make that an option?

All-in-all I'm happier with iScore as I get more and more comfortable with it. I wouldn't use it on anything smaller than my iPad and it is still a struggle handling glare on that device sitting out on a field with no shade but I'm still happier than I ever was with my Glover book!

Keep up the great work!

Hi Ray - still on the list. We try and do things based on popularity of requests, and there are still quite a few items that get more interest than this one if you scan the threads here on the forum. This request is not forgotten however.

Ray, heads up, the glare may be annoying but nothing compared to your unit over heating, last summer many users reported direct sunlight and moderate warm days, 80s and no shade, the iPad would overheat and shut down.. A real bummer mid game. Lots of tips like cooling the iPad in coolers between innings and stuff, but the real solve many found was shade, it solved the glare and the over heating ...
