Post by mswhisler » Mon May 10, 2010 5:48 pm

Is there a way to archive the games and stats from a season in iscore central so that you do not need keep the data on your ipod? What procedure is suggested when changing to a new season?

The suggested thing to do is actually to just create a League, and put all the existing games in that league (for example, "Spring 2010"). You can then turn the league off in League Manager, and the data will be hidden, but you can always view it at any time by turning the league back on.

Just think of Leagues as "groupings", and you can hide/show any leagues you like at any time.

I already have this season in a league. If I turn the league off will the data still require RAM space on my ipod for storage? If i Keep 5 or 6 season will this require much storage space?

The storage space required per game is quite small. You can store about 20 games in the same space required for 1 song.

I do wish there was a way to "disconnect" the database on my device from the team website now that the season is over. I would really like to wipe the device clean since I have no desire for High School stats to cross over into summer stats and so forth. I know I can move them into an inactive league and so forth but that static data now has to be uploaded every time I do an export, right? My exports, for only the High School softball season, are taking pretty long via 3G and don't always complete the first time. They work each and every time using wi-fi but not 3G and now I have to take all that static data that I don't care about on the device and continue to upload it. You really should be able to freeze a team website and start fresh.

I am pondering over the same issue as posted on this thread (aren't you proud that I searched for an existing thread instead of posting new? :D ). I have scored 50 games this spring on my iPad and have used League Manager to group these games & teams as I needed, but now that the season is over and we are headed into summer baseball, I would rather have an option to archive the data so that I don't have to upload the 10MB of data each time I sync to the admin website. As stated, even with 3G, this takes a few minutes and isn't always successful. I guess that I could just delete this data, but would prefer some type of archive mechanism in case I wanted to re-load at a later date.

Thanks!!
