Hi..My first post in here. I really like the Iscore software but there is a learning curve.

I have a question for anybody. Here is the situation. The pitch get slightly (about 3 feet) behind the catcher...the runner at second was dancing back to second but seeing the ball on the ground bolts for 3b. the catcher recovers quickly and throws the ball OVER the 3b head...the runner holds, safe at 3b. In my opinion a good throw the runner would have been out by a safe margin. How should this play be scored?

I would probably score that as a passed ball. The runner was not trying to steal; made the decision to run after ball got passed catcher. If runner had made it home on bad throw I would have charged that as an error on the catcher.

I would probably go with wild pitch or passed ball depending on why the ball got past the catcher. The only way I would score the error on the advance to third is if the throw was way in advance of the runner. It's a judgement call either way.
