That is a very odd request and an odder follow up.
If you are batting the full roster an injured player should be an out.
Can I put a -1 on the priority?
Batting line up change after injured player. Batting all 11
Re: Batting line up change after injured player. Batting all 11
personaly, I would do so.
I have posted this same request and I was answered by somebody from iScore. Here's the answer I received :
We have 11 players coming to bat, you trust your lineup along the game and it doesn't take very much to mist the injured player to "skip him" from batting and here we go... wrong plays, wrong calls to the wrong player(s)
You may realize 1 or 2 players later that you have the wrong batter at the plate... now you have to undo AND remember the plays... BUT WHAT IF we have runners on the bases, we get a single hit followed by a double with error, stolen base and so on..... No, it is not exagerated, it his the reality!
It is not difficult to skip a batter, you have to remember because your lineup is trustable and you get into a certain routine OR the game is moving fast and you have to keep up with the plays and you don't pay attention who is at bat...
"The iScore developers have scored over 1000 games at this point and have had only one game with injury" I was told
It is hard to believe that over 1000 games, only 1 injury was reported. Is it possible there was more than one injury and the scorekeeper did not send the stats because everything was wrong?? That's what I would do, I would not send wrongs stats that do not belong to the wright player.
I am disappointed for the answer received. We must also consider new scorekeepers getting used with the program... Was iScore created for itech specialist or also for normal people with sufficent knowledge to handle such a program? KEEP IT SIMPLE and friendly user !!

For his info, I did not have a rough year with injuries, THE YEAR JUST STARTED!!!FTMSupport wrote:We do not know when we will implement it. We are sorry you have had a rough year with injuries. We really have not seen this being an issue for most people. Our developers have scored over 1000 games at this point, and have had maybe one game with an injury. And when there was an injury, we used skip batter. As a scorekeeper you should always be paying attention to who is at the plate (in case of sub, etc) so skipping the batter should not be difficult.
As noted, we have your request and will prioritize it as we do with all requests.

Unfortunately, the lineups are not trustable. One of the things we as scorekeepers have to do is to keep up with who is batting. Yes, it is easy to get into a routine and just assume the batter that is at the plate is correct. Most of the time this works. However, it is the cases when we spot issues that become critical to getting the book correct (or close to it). I would suggest getting into the habit of checking jersey numbers for each batter. That is the better routine to get used to.triple wrote: because your lineup is trustable
My experience is similar to FTM's. I have scored several hundred games and have had to skip batters multiple times due to injuries around 5 times. I do think there is probably a good way for iScore to help with batter skips though. I would NOT want an extra question during the initial 'Misc -> Skip Batter' though. A nicer way would be for the next time that spot in the batting order comes around that iScore prompts "This batting spot was skipped the last time through the batting order. Skip again? Yes|No|Stop Asking".

Re: Batting line up change after injured player. Batting all 11
Petroguy, I agree full speed with you. It shouldn't be so complicated!!
As a scorekeeper, I have identified all the players with their jersey number but still, sometime it happens so fast.
The consequences are bad.
I am training 2 scorekeepers right now and I do believe that a "reminder" like you suggest would be great...
I imagine the bad feeling when you realize 2-3 players later you forgot the "skip batter" option...
Very good idea Petroguy
