In a report from Flurry (company that tracks smart phones), as of November 2009, there are about 58 million users of iPhone plus iPod Touch. ALL of those users would be capable of running iScore. We can not find a definitive report on the number of BlackBerry Storm plus BlackBerry Storm 2 users (which is what we could potentially port iScore Baseball to), but it appears to be in the 2-3 million range... less then 10% of the potential market that iPhone + iPod touch has. If someone can show us numbers that are different than this, we would love to see it. That same report from Flurry also suggests that Android appears to be the #2 smartphone. This is also consistent with the poll we have run here on the forums asking what device people would like to see us port to. Obviously our sample size is much smaller than the Flurry report, but it appears there is more demand for the Android phones than any other device at this point.
We would love to be able to support all platforms, but it takes time and money to build the product, and if we are going to spend the time and money, we need to look for the biggest potential return which is currently the iPhone / iPod Touch market by far. We will be constantly re-evaluating that as the market changes, but it is hard to argue with the numbers at this point.
Thank you again.
I can understand what you are saying, but your poll hs no basis for accuracy. As the poll in this forum is only read by those that are members of the forum, and not by the public that actually is using the software or looking for software of this type. Plus those that have Blackberries, unless they are passionate about baseball usually wont go as far as I have to try to find a software application like iScore Baseball that will run a blackberry & ask enough questions to developers about the app and the platform.
I find it to be very sad that you do not see any value in creating iScore for the Blackberry Storm platform. I am sure that someone will come along and develop an app similiar to iScore Baseball to fill the void that there currently is.
Thank you for your time.
