Scorekeeping for a league with multiple iPhones/iTouches

Post by caged1 » Thu Jan 14, 2010 7:21 pm

Is it possible for multiple iPhones/iTouches to have access to the same league stats or account?
For example, our Pony league is considering using iScore for scorekeeping the different age divisions by using a volunteer force setup with the iScore app. It would be nice if every scorekeeper could have access to the same rosters and be able to update the league stats. Even if we could have 2 or 3 iPhones/iTouches “linked/shared” per age division.

This is something we are hoping to provide this season. Right now, we can transfer an entire database from one device to another. If you have one person that enters the entire league, we can transfer the entire database to your other devices. That will replace everything on the second device though, so it is not really "shared scoring", just a one time transfer.

We do plan on making transferring of data (teams and games) an option that can be done without our support as well.

Just a thought, but could you merge their data on iscorecast so that they have cumulative data/stats from the various different iphones? That way their leagues could have league stats.

The merging of data would definitely take place on the server, most likely through the http://my.iscorecentral.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; or through our upcoming "team websites". The "iScorecast" interface does not have all the information required to transfer the data, but the my.iscorecentral.com portal does.

Thank you for the suggestion.

Thanks as always for the great support!
How about this, would it be possible to have 2 or 3 iScore devices linked to the same account? That way they could all start off with the same data, then after every game (games will not be played at the same time) they would export the data, before the next game the other devices could import the new data on to their devices and then repeat the cycle.

If you can do an export from the three devices, and then send us the Customer IDs, we should be able to set something up like this for you. It will be your responsibility to make sure you are strict about following this export/import rule though. If one of the devices with older data does an export, it will overwrite whatever is on the sever, but as long as you guys all follow the rule, it should work fine.

So again, do an export from the 3 devices, then send us an email at support@fasterthanmonkeys.com, and we will see what we can set up.

Thank you.
