League web sites

Post by caged1 » Mon Mar 01, 2010 1:31 am

The new team web sites look great! Well done!
Will there be the possibility of using one or multiple sites for a league instead of just one team? I score keep using my iPhone for one entire division of teams and keep the stats for all. In other words, will there be league web sites? I’m fine with each team having their own site but it would be nice to have a “home” site for league leaders or a list of all the scorecasts. Also, is there going to be an option to merge data with another iScore device on the web site?

We will be creating league capabilities in the future, but even the team websites can be used if you have a league website already hosted somewhere. The pages in the team websites with the stats and games each have a unique URL that you can use in other websites. So a "league web page" could have links to each of the teams, and it would look like a completely integrated site. For example, if you have a team called "myteam", the URL to the stats for that team would be:

http://baseball.iscorecentral.com/stats.php?t=myteam" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

That can be embedded directly in any other website, and all styles and any password you may have assigned to that team would still apply.

Merging of data across devices will be included with the next update of iScore --- that has been the biggest requested feature we have had as the new youth leagues have been starting up, and we are excited to include it in the next release.

We have seen what you have done with your league website and how you integrated it with the iScore Team Websites. Very nice work... we think it looks great and are very excited to see what others are going to do with the Team Website capabilities. We can only imagine how much time it was taking you to manually update the site after games, and how much time this should save after every game.

Thank you! I appreciate that. Not sure the league coaches and parents have even noticed as I don’t get much feedback but I mostly do it because I enjoy it anyway.
Yes, these new team sites have made my life much easier. Copying and pasting HTML code into our league web site and having to adjust it, always took a lot of work. Tonight, all I had to do was hit export within iScore and the sites were updated automatically. :D
