Runner Advancement Notation
Runner Advancement Notation
Have you guys considered noting the players uniform number that advanced a base runner instead of the current numerical order of the batter in that inning?
I am new to iScore (and love it!!), but not new to score books.
Thanks & keep up the great work!!

Re: Runner Advancement Notation
The problem with doing jersey numbers is some people do not enter jersey numbers into iScore (they leave all 0's for the other team for example). By showing the lineup position, you can always look in that position on the scorecard to see who was at bat when the runner advanced. If we used jersey numbers and they were not entered, there would be no way to do the lookup.
Thank you.
Thank you.

Valid response. I could see where that could be a problem.
Thanks for the quick reply!!
Again, I am absolutely loving this app!!

Re: Runner Advancement Notation
Although if a jersey number existed, that could be used! When one is NOT listed then the at-bat position would be used.
Re: Runner Advancement Notation
That sounds like it would work. Is it doable in a future release?

Re: Runner Advancement Notation
That would be confusing to users. Then if only some jerseys are entered, it would be switching back and forth between jersey and lineup position, and if someone had a jersey like "8", you would not know if it was jersey #8 or player batting in the 8th spot.
We may make it a setting you can control in the future so you can decide if you want jersey numbers or lineup positions on your scorecards. We have several other options like that we would like to make available, but we don't want to change the default look of the scorecards that have now been in use for nearly a year.

Fair enough. I definately see your point in that it could be confusing. A user-controlled setting would be a nice option for the future.
Thanks again!!

Re: Runner Advancement Notation
Just as an FYI, if I don't know a users number, which is usually for the opponents, I always enter a default team using the players roster number as his jersey number. So when you have the app create a default roster, you have the option to have it say Player 1, Player 2 and so on. I also assign Player 1 the #1 and Player 2 the #2 and so on. This way I always see a jersey number, then during the game I correct it as I go along.
Making the setting an option would be great!
