I was looking at the box score and noticed that the catcher had 19 putouts. 17 were from strikeouts and the remaining two I'm not sure about. There were two dropped 3rd strike outs but I would have figured those would have been assists.
So the pitcher gets credit for the K's but I guess PO does not apply to him, right? Seems odd to give the catcher a PO for a K but maybe that is standard.

Re: Putouts and Assists? Statistics from Box Scores
Yes catchers are credited with Put out for Ks . That is standard "by rule" in MLB 10.09.. (see below)
(FYI a Pitcher is not credited with an assist, "by rule" 10.10 (unless it is a drop 3rd strike pitcher gets and makes the put out))
I would have thought a drop 3rd was an assist to catcher and put out to first. If i throw was made, if it was a drop third tag out, then catcher gets put out for tagging.
(FTM - can you verify how iscore handles drop 3 strike put outs?)
could someting else have caused the 2 non strke Put outs in your game, perhaps, foul 3rd stike bunt perhaps? or catcher tag batter-runner out (vs throw to first)?
below is MLB reference 10.09 for scoring put outs for catcher .. that describes some of the 'by rule' oddities.
MLB Put Outs rule 10.09...
(b) The official scorer shall credit an automatic putout to the catcher when a:
(1) batter is called out on strikes;
(2) batter is called out for an illegally batted ball;
(3) batter is called out for bunting foul for his third strike;
Rule 10.09(b)(3) Comment: Note the exception in Rule 10.15(a)(4).
(4) batter is called out for being touched by his own batted ball;
(5) batter is called out for interfering with the catcher;
(6) batter is called out for failing to bat in his proper turn;
Rule 10.09(b)(6) Comment: See Rule 10.03(d).
(7) batter is called out for refusing to touch first base after receiving a base on balls, after being hit by a pitch or after a catcher’s interference ; or
(8) runner is called out for refusing to advance from third base to home plate
(FYI a Pitcher is not credited with an assist, "by rule" 10.10 (unless it is a drop 3rd strike pitcher gets and makes the put out))

Re: Putouts and Assists? Statistics from Box Scores
There are an incredible number of things that catcher's get putouts for. They are basically the default for any non-standard putout.
Look at rule 10.09(b) here: http://mlb.mlb.com/mlb/official_info/of ... rer_10.jsp" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Among other things:

Re: Putouts and Assists? Statistics from Box Scores
Got to thinking on the drop 3 strike behavior stats.....
I ran the below 4 scenarios and found iScore to handle Put Out and Assist stats like I expected. and consistent with MLB scoring rules. (see below)
However, the score card generated seemed to be missing some information.
FTM - should the score card not reflect the below 2-3 throw or U2 tag out on a drop 3rd strike?
Scenario 1 -
Drop 3rd strike - Catcher Throws to First for 2-3 putout. = Put Out 1B Assist to catcher
plus PB=o and pitcher gets the K but no put out and no assist
on score card it shows red Kd, but also Expected to see red 2-3
Scenario 2 -
Drop 3rd Strike - Catcher picks up and tags batter runner = Put out Catcher, no assist
plus PB=o and pitcher gets the K but no put out and no assist
on score card it shows red Kd, but expected to see Red U2
Scenario 3
Drop 3rd strike - Pitcher throws out batter runner at first = Put out 1B assist to 1B
plus PB=o and pitcher gets the K but no put out and no assist
on score card it shows red Kd, but Expected to see Red 1-3
Scenario 4
Drop 3rd Strike, Runner
