Unable to open teamstats.xls

Post by dgwyn » Wed May 05, 2010 5:27 am

I just sent out out first cummulative statistics, only to discover that I get workbook errors and can't open the teamstats.xls file. The .csv files work, but the cobined spreadsheet can't be opened.

Are you on a mac? If so you need the most current version of Excel (2008 not 2004)..
The CSV file and the excel file contain exactly the same raw data content.
FTMSupport wrote:.., CSV output will work with any version of Excel, and it will also work with Numbers. The Excel format is an "xml-based" format that Microsoft started supporting in newer versions of Excel (it is a more open format that developers can create Excel documents with, but requires newer versions of Excel).

Strange. Maybe the file got corrupted on creation. I'll try it again. I'm using Excel 2007.

I created and emailed the file a second time and got the same errors. Here's what's in the log file created:

XML PARSE ERROR: Missing whitespace between attributes
Error occurs at or below this element stack:
<ss:Workbook>

the parse error is the common error when folks have unsupported versions.. but

I am surpised that office 2007 (version 12 right?) does not open it..

I only have excel 2003, so can not test 2007.

perhaps another user or FTM can chime in regarding PC excel ver 2007

We are able to open with Excel version 2007 without trouble, but maybe there is something specific in your data that is causing the issue. If you can email your data to us at support@iscorecentral.com, we can take a look. Thank you.
