How do I score this one?
How do I score this one?
Runner at first with no outs, batter sac bunts, out 5-3, Runner touches second and trys to advvance to third but is tagged out 3-6? I have tried and tried. It keeps saying tagged at out at second.
Re: How do I score this one?
Are you touching third before you score the tag out to let the program know the play is at third? I make this mistake sometimes on the caught stealing, I need to touch second otherwise it says caught stealing at first.
Re: How do I score this one?
In play
out, sac bunt
hit location > next
"Who handled..." 5-3, done
"What happen to runner at first.?".
out ,3, tag out
I would score it that way,
Score Card Shows
batter SAC 5-3, and
Runner at first, AB# at 2nd Base and TO3-5 between 2nd and 3rd

Re: How do I score this one?
OhioTex,
Why start this as "in play"? The batter is out, so shouldn't that be the first touch?

Re: How do I score this one?
you are right.
"out" as step 1 is more correct.
(it saves you a keystroke, but otherwise no different. than "inplay" "out")
....not sure when or exactly why.. but somewhere along the way i got in the habit of just hitting "in play" when a ball went into play.. rather than 'out' to start entry. looking back, probably started this habit for a couple of reasons: 1) when i score and coach live with one hand, esier to hit "in play" button with my fat thumb 2) generally am scoreing real time while coaching and so on conatct, I tend to think "in play" rather than out and my fingers follow suit; 3) in my youth games, routine outs have a habit of turning into safe ...FYI because of above, i do not use swipe on out either. Again, no real reason just the habits i have adopted over time.
again, technically you are right, save yoursefl a step and start with "out"

Re: How do I score this one?
Thanks Danmcc. That was my issue. I do not think that I can correct it at this point with our rescoring the game from that point on.
